Honoring the Legacy of Scion

In 2026, the Toyota GR86 Yuzu Special Edition emerges as a tribute to the Scion brand and its iconic FR-S, which featured the striking Yuzu Yellow coloring. Eleven years ago, Scion unveiled its very first special edition in this vibrant hue, marking the beginning of a legacy for the compact sports car that has captivated enthusiasts ever since. The latest release showcases the ongoing reverence for the GR86’s rich history.

Distinctive Features of the Yuzu Special Edition

The 2026 GR86 Yuzu Special Edition features the same eye-catching Yuzu Yellow paint that made its predecessor famous. This model sits on Sachs dampers and is equipped with a performance package that includes high-performance Brembo brakes accented by bold red calipers. Unique matte-black 18-inch wheels complement the eye-catching exterior. Inside the car, the seats are trimmed in synthetic suede, adorned with yellow perforation and stitching that extend to the steering wheel, parking-brake handle, and door trims, emphasizing its sporty elegance.

Performance and Availability

Under the hood, the Yuzu Special Edition packs a robust punch with a 228-horsepower, 2.4-liter flat-four-cylinder engine delivering 184 pounds-feet of torque with rear-wheel drive. Buyers have the option of a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic transmission. Toyota plans to limit the production of this exclusive model to just 860 units in the U.S., with sales set to kick off this fall alongside the broader 2026 GR86 lineup. While pricing is still under wraps, estimates suggest it will land in the mid-$30,000 range, reflecting a nod to the original FR-S which was priced just above $30,000 at release.
