BMW has officially announced a new three-year partnership with the prestigious Isle of Man TT races. This exciting deal entails the supply of their renowned S1000RR superbikes to the event’s travelling marshals, marking a significant shift from the previous supplier, Honda. The new arrangement ensures that the marshalling team will have access to high-performance machines designed to meet the demanding needs of this iconic road racing event.

Importance of High-Performance Bikes
The role of travelling marshals during the Isle of Man TT is critical, particularly in incident management on the 37.73-mile road racing course. Quick access to marshals is essential to ensure the safety of riders and spectators alike. With the introduction of the S1000RR, renowned for its speed and technological advancements, BMW aims to enhance the efficiency and safety of the marshals’ operations. Scott Grimsdall, UK Head of Marketing and PR at BMW Motorrad, emphasized the importance of deploying personnel safely and efficiently, stating, “We are delighted to partner with the Isle of Man TT races to provide them with class-leading technology.”
Comprehensive Support for Officials and Medics
In addition to equipping the travelling marshals with superbikes, BMW will also supply vehicles for TT officials and medical teams, ensuring they have the necessary resources for effective response management. This includes two M1000RR machines for rider liaison officers, enhancing support for newcomers and enabling thorough course inspections. Paul Phillips, Head of Motorsport for the Isle of Man TT, highlighted the ongoing commitment to safety, noting, “Having the best equipment is essential to operate effectively and safely.” With a fleet that includes various models from BMW, this partnership is set to elevate the overall safety standards of the event, ensuring a spectacular race for all involved.
