Introduction to the Porsche Cayenne EV
The electric Porsche Cayenne has already made headlines, smashing an impressive hill climb record at Shelsley Walsh. Although still in its prototype phase, this camouflaged electric SUV demonstrated extraordinary speed and performance during its recent appearance.

Record-Breaking Performance at Shelsley Walsh
Driven by Gabriela Jilkova, a development driver from Porsche’s Formula E program, the prototype completed the 1,000-yard (914-meter) track in just 31.28 seconds. This remarkable feat not only outpaced the previous SUV record set by a Bentley Bentayga W12 but also bested the fastest production electric car, the Porsche Taycan Turbo S, which clocked in at 31.43 seconds. The electric Cayenne’s agility surprised many as it effortlessly scuttled up the hill.
What to Expect from the Upcoming Electric Cayenne
While the electric Cayenne isn’t yet a production vehicle, its impressive performance has sparked excitement among enthusiasts and potential buyers. Built on the same PPE platform as the new Macan EV, the upcoming electric Cayenne is expected to coexist with a heavily updated version of its gas-powered predecessor, maintaining Porsche’s presence in both electric and traditional markets. Additionally, as Porsche expands its electric lineup, including a new flagship SUV codenamed K1, the Cayenne intends to prove that electric vehicles can also deliver thrilling performance.
