Reintroduction of Buell Motorcycles
Buell motorcycles are officially back in the UK, presenting an exciting opportunity for both new and seasoned motorcycle enthusiasts. With an ambitious plan for an expanded dealer and service network, Buell aims to make a significant impact in the British motorcycle market. The Michigan-based firm has partnered with Devon-based Rainbow Moto, which serves as the official UK importer. This collaboration promises to usher in the era of Buell bikes in the region once again, following a long hiatus since 2009.

New Models and Features
Rainbow Moto recently took delivery of the first shipment, showcasing the Hammerhead superbikes and 1190SX super-nakeds, both powered by a robust 1190cc v-twin motor that produces an impressive 182.5bhp at 10,600rpm. It’s worth noting that these motorcycles will initially be sold under the Motorcycle Single Vehicle Approval (MSVA) scheme, due to their non-compliance with Euro5 homologation standards. However, they embody classic Buell engineering traits, such as fuel stored in the frame and a large single front disc brake.
Building a Dealer Network
Ian Johnson, co-owner of Rainbow Moto, expressed his excitement about the opportunity to expand the Buell brand in the UK. Alongside his partner Christine Fairhurst, Johnson is committed to establishing a solid network of dealers and service points across Devon and Cornwall. They have already received inquiries for servicing from various locations, reflecting strong interest in the Buell brand. The reintroduction of Buell motorcycles is set to cater to a new generation of riders, and with plans for further models on the horizon, the future looks promising.
