Introduction to the BMW Recall

In a recent announcement, BMW confirmed the recall of over 70,800 electric vehicles (EVs) due to a critical issue with the electric drive motor software. This recall affects multiple models, including the model-year 2022-24 ix SUVs, i4 sedans, 2023-24 i7 sedans, and the 2024 i5 sedans. The underlying cause of the recall is the potential for the software to shut down the high-voltage system, leading to a loss of drive power.
