Stellantis is recalling 332,000 Alfa Romeo, Fiat and Jeep vehicles over an issue with the front-seat airbag. Affected vehicles include model-year 2017-24 Alfa Romeo Giulia sedans, model-year 2018-25 Alfa Romeo Stelvio SUVs, model-year 2024 Fiat 500e electric hatchbacks, and model-year 2019-23 Fiat 500X and Jeep Renegade SUVs.

The issue stems from a disrupted connector on the seat belt buckle’s switch sensor, which may affect conduction on the connectors of the seat wiring and buckle. This prevents the front-seat airbag from deploying correctly in the event of a crash, increasing the risk of injury.

Dealers will repair the connection for free. Owner notification letters will be sent Aug. 22, but those with further questions can contact the brands’ parent automaker Stellantis at 800-853-1403 (Stellantis’ number for this recall is 82B), the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s vehicle-safety hotline at 888-327-4236, or visit its website to check their vehicle identification number and learn more.
