Introduction: New Production Location

The 2025 Hyundai Ioniq 5 is receiving significant updates, both in terms of design and functionality. One of the most notable changes is that it’s now being built at Hyundai’s new Metaplant America in Georgia. This strategic shift not only aligns with Hyundai’s broader vision but also enables the Ioniq 5 to qualify for a ,750 federal tax credit.

Enhanced Battery and Charging Capabilities

Hyundai has made several improvements to the battery packs for the 2025 Ioniq 5. The standard battery pack has grown from 58 kilowatt-hours to 63, while the long-range variant has increased from 77.4 kWh to 84 kWh. The range for the standard SE model is expected to rise from an EPA-estimated 220 miles to over 240 miles. Additionally, the 2025 Ioniq 5 will be compatible with Tesla’s North American Charging Standard (NACS), making it easier for users to access Tesla chargers.

The XRT Trim Level

One of the most exciting features for 2025 is the introduction of the XRT trim level. Designed by Hyundai’s North America team, the XRT aims to offer enhanced protection and functionality. The trim level features a 0.9-inch suspension lift and unique front and rear styling. The front bumper even includes tow hooks rated for a 5,834-pound pull.

Styling and Interior Updates

The entire 2025 Ioniq 5 lineup will benefit from updated front and rear bumpers and new wheel designs. Inside, the center console now includes physical buttons for climate control and heated front seats. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto come standard. Higher trims also feature automated parking, heated rear seats, and Hyundai’s Digital Key 2.

Availability and Pricing

The updated 2025 Hyundai Ioniq 5 is expected to hit dealerships this fall. While final pricing details are yet to be announced, these updates are sure to make the Ioniq 5 an even more compelling option for electric vehicle buyers.
