Ford Initiates Recall for Multiple Models

Ford has announced a recall affecting more than 37,300 vehicles across several popular models, including the Bronco Sport SUV, Maverick pickup truck, and Mustang Mach-E electric SUV. The affected units span the 2023 model year for Bronco Sports and Mustang Mach-Es, and the 2023-24 model years for Mavericks. The primary issue lies with the front windshield wiper motor, which may become inoperable, leading to potential visibility problems while driving.

Details of the Windshield Wiper Issue

The recall centers on a malfunction in the front windshield wiper motor. If this motor fails, it could render the windshield wipers inoperative, significantly reducing or altogether eliminating the driver’s visibility in adverse weather conditions. Such a scenario increases the likelihood of a crash, posing a substantial risk to vehicle occupants and others on the road.

Steps for Affected Vehicle Owners

Ford has indicated that it will begin notifying owners of the affected vehicles on August 26th. As a remedial measure, authorized dealership representatives will inspect and replace the faulty windshield wiper motor at no cost to the vehicle owner. Those who own the specified models are encouraged to reach out for more information and take timely action to ensure their vehicles are safe to operate.

Contact Information for Further Assistance

For additional inquiries or support, Ford owners can contact the automaker directly at 866-436-7332, referring to Ford’s specific recall number 24S51. Alternatively, they may reach out to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s vehicle-safety hotline at 888-327-4236 or visit the NHTSA website. By entering their vehicle identification number (VIN), owners can ascertain whether their vehicle is included in this recall and obtain further details on the next steps to ensure vehicular safety.
