Overview of the 2025 Ram 1500 Recall

The 2025 Ram 1500 is at the center of a voluntary recall involving approximately 34,000 trucks. This recall is essential due to a potential issue affecting the electronic stability control (ESC) system, which could lead to a higher risk of accidents. The recall specifically targets the 33,777 half-ton Ram trucks manufactured between October 13, 2023, and August 11, 2024.

Understanding the Issue

According to documents submitted to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the root of the problem lies in the front wheel bearing encoder rings. These components may have sustained damage during handling, potentially causing the wheel-speed sensor to lose its signal. Consequently, this loss could disable the electronic stability control system, increasing the risk of loss of vehicle control while driving.

Steps for Affected Owners

Ram is taking proactive measures to address this situation. The remedy involves a thorough inspection of the front wheel bearing hub assembly, with replacements initiated when necessary. The automaker has committed to reimbursing any customers who previously incurred costs to remedy this issue prior to the recall announcement. Notifications to dealers are already underway, and affected owners can expect communications starting around December 19, 2025.

It is crucial for Ram 1500 owners to remain informed about this recall to ensure their safety and the safe operation of their vehicles. Staying updated will guide owners in addressing potential risks associated with their trucks.
