Overview of the Airstream Basecamp 20XE

The Airstream Basecamp 20XE marks a significant milestone as Airstream’s first all-electric travel trailer. Building on previous concepts, including the Thor Estream RV, this model provides a practical electric solution for modern campers. Its design is a blend of Airstream’s classic aesthetics and state-of-the-art technology, tailored for outdoor enthusiasts seeking sustainability and convenience.

Key Features of the 20XE

Sharing dimensions with the traditional Basecamp 20, the 20XE is 20 feet, 2 inches long and 7 feet, 9.5 inches wide, boasting a gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of 4,500 pounds. It includes versatile sleeping arrangements, accommodating up to four individuals, with convertible spaces in both the rear seating area and main hall. Central to its functionality is a robust 10.3-kWh lithium battery pack, which powers a fully inverted 30A electrical system.

Solar Power and Additional Features

The Basecamp 20XE also comes equipped with a 600-watt solar panel—expandable up to 900 watts—with the option to support various appliances, such as a microwave and air conditioning system. In terms of comfort, a Truma Combi Eco Plus heating system, which can operate using electricity, propane, or a combination, enhances the camping experience. Furthermore, the camper’s compact wet bath features a shower, toilet, and sink, optimizing space while retaining functionality. Optional enhancements, including an outdoor shower and tent attachments, add versatility for travelers.
