The Legacy of Prodrive

The name Prodrive is synonymous with high-performance and racing. Known for orchestrating Subaru’s world rally team to championship victories and building Ferrari 550 Le Mans racers, Prodrive has a storied history in automotive excellence. Recently, the company also made headlines for their $600,000 Impreza 22B tribute cars.

Introducing the Evolv Demonstrator

Prodrive’s latest venture, however, takes a distinctly different turn. The Evolv Demonstrator is a concept for a last-mile electric delivery vehicle, developed in collaboration with British design firm Astheimer. This concept vehicle is the first from Prodrive’s new joint venture, Elm Mobility, which aims to have a production version on the streets by 2028.

Design and Features

The Evolv Demonstrator boasts impressive specifications. Approximately 60 percent of its total volume is dedicated to cargo space, amounting to a substantial 141 cubic feet. This space is divided between a main hold accessible via a side barn door and a secondary area reached through traditional rear doors. Despite its ample storage, the Evolv maintains a compact footprint of 128 inches by 57 inches, making it nine inches narrower and over a foot shorter than a Fiat 500e. Weighing under 1874 pounds (or 1322 pounds without batteries), it qualifies as a quadricycle in England, not a car.

The Future of Urban Deliveries

Elm Mobility envisions the Evolv as a revolutionary addition to city streets, thanks to its minimal footprint and short turning radius. With plans to build these compact delivery vehicles by 2028, the brand aims to offer a highly efficient, low-disruption solution for urban deliveries. Set at an estimated price of ,000, the Evolv could redefine last-mile delivery logistics if successfully brought to market.
