Introduction to Kawasaki’s Innovative Technology

Kawasaki is set to elevate the riding experience for enthusiasts with its groundbreaking voice control technology, debuting in its 2025 bike lineup. Models including the revamped Z900, Ninja 1100SX, and Versys 1100 will feature this cutting-edge system. In an exclusive interview with MCN, representatives from Kawasaki’s factory in Japan provided insights into the technology’s development and capabilities.

Hands-Free Control at Your Fingertips

The integration of the Cerence voice command software allows riders to access essential functions hands-free, promoting safety and convenience while on the move. With 18 available voice commands, users can easily make phone calls, check weather updates, adjust music volume, navigate routes, and monitor vehicle information—all without taking their hands off the handlebars.

Future of Rider-Aid Technology

A Kawasaki spokesperson highlighted the company’s commitment to being at the forefront of electronic rider-aid technology. They emphasized that this system not only encompasses engineering-based features but also addresses the evolving needs of contemporary riders. Although the details regarding market research on voice control demand have not been disclosed, Kawasaki has confirmed the system will require an annual charge, providing a distinct licensing format linked to the owner rather than the machine.

The project, developed over a year, faced significant challenges, particularly in recognizing various languages and accents pertinent to different market demographics. As Kawasaki continues to innovate, this could redefine how riders interact with their machines, setting a new standard for motorcycle technology in the years to come.
