Tesla is recalling its newest lineup addition again, this time in separate safety missives for a trunk-bed trim applique that wasn’t properly adhered and a windshield wiper that may fail.

Affected vehicles are model-year 2024 Cybertrucks. The issue with the trunk-bed trim sail applique is that it may have been improperly adhered during assembly and could loosen and detach, creating a road hazard for other motorists and increasing the risk of a crash.

As for the front windshield wiper, an electrical overload to the wiper motor’s gate drive component may cause the wiper to fail, reducing visibility for the driver in inclement weather and increasing the risk of a crash.

To fix the loose applique, Tesla service centers will apply adhesion promoter and pressure-sensitive tape or replace the missing applique, as necessary; for the windshield wiper, service centers will replace the wiper motor. Both fixes will be free.

Tesla will notify owners Aug. 18, but those with further questions in the meantime can contact the automaker’s customer service at 877-798-3752 (Tesla’s number for the applique recall is SB-24-12-006 and for the windshield-wiper recall is SB-24-17-006), the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s vehicle-safety hotline at 888-327-4236, or visit its website to check your vehicle identification number and learn more.
