Introduction to the Ram 1500 Rev

The Ram 1500 Rev electric pickup truck captured significant attention during its reveal in April 2023, particularly due to its previously estimated maximum range of 500 miles. This impressive figure placed it among the longest-range electric vehicles available. However, recent confirmations hint at a change in its launch specifications.

The Reality of the 350-Mile Version

According to a spokesperson for Stellantis, the parent company of Ram, the 2026 launch of the Ram 1500 Rev will now include only a 350-mile-range model. This decision was corroborated by automotive news outlets that reported the cancellation of the 500-mile variant based on leaks to suppliers. While this adjustment might disappoint some consumers, the 350-mile target remains competitive, particularly compared to other electric pickups on the market.

Battery Options and Future Potential

The Ram 1500 Rev will feature a robust 168-kilowatt-hour battery, offering a rated range surpassing comparable models like the Ford F-150 Lightning and Tesla Cybertruck. Though the original plans for a 500-mile battery upgrade have been shelved, Stellantis has designed the chassis to accommodate a larger battery if future decisions prompt a reconsideration of this feature.

As Stellantis navigates consumer preferences and evolving market dynamics, they have chosen to prioritize the release of the Ram 1500 Ramcharger, which uses a different powertrain approach. According to industry updates, orders for the Ram 1500 Rev will now open later than originally planned, moving to 2026 while the Ramcharger is expected in 2025. This strategic shift underscores the need to respond to strong consumer interest and changing demands.
