For 2025, the updated K5’s pricing starts at $28,145 (all prices include $1,155 destination charge).
On the outside, changes to the K5 are limited to mostly just the new head- and taillights. Inside the EX trim level, a 12.3-inch digital instrument panel blends seamlessly with the 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen in a single curved display angled toward the driver (a 4.2-inch instrument panel display is standard). Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are also standard. The K5’s standard safety suite grows to include adaptive cruise control, cyclist detection for the forward collision warning system, and front and rear parking sensors.
Whereas most trim levels for the 2024 model were powered by a turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine, all 2025 K5s pack a 2.5-liter four under the hood. In the range-topping GT, the engine is turbocharged and puts out 290 horsepower and 311 pounds-feet of torque, the same as last year. The same engine sans turbo powers the rest of the line, making 191 hp and 181 pounds-feet. In the LXS, GT-Line and EX, the engine is mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission, while the GT gets an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic for sportier shifting. Front-wheel drive is standard, and all-wheel drive is only available on the GT-Line.
The 2025 K5 LXS’s fuel economy is EPA-rated at 26/37/30 mpg city/highway/combined, while the EX and front-drive GT-Line are rated at 25/36/29. With AWD, the GT-Line gets an estimated 24/33/27 mpg, and with the turbocharged engine, the GT-Line lands at 23/33/27.
The 2025 Kia K5 will arrive at dealerships in the second quarter of this year. Full line pricing is as follows:
LXS: $28,145
GT-Line: $29,145
GT-Line AWD: $30,745
GT: $34,245
EX: $35,645
Trim Levels and Safety Equipment
Riding on 16-inch aluminum wheels, the entry-level LXS is far from basic. Standard features include LED head- and taillights, keyless entry and starting, dual-zone climate control, the 12.3-inch infotainment system and six speakers. Standard safety tech includes forward collision warning with pedestrian and bicyclist detection and automatic emergency braking, blind spot monitors, rear cross-traffic alert, lane departure steering assist, lane-centering steering, adaptive cruise control, front and rear parking sensors, and a driver attention monitor.
The GT-Line is largely an appearance package but also includes a few comfort and convenience upgrades. It features black 18-inch wheels, unique front and rear bumpers, LED foglights, a sportier grille, and black mirrors and window trim. Inside, it gets satin-chrome and black trim, synthetic leather upholstery, a power driver’s seat, heated front seats, a wireless phone charger and navigation-based adaptive cruise control.
The GT shares the GT-Line’s cosmetic upgrades, but it’s powered by the turbocharged engine and rides on a unique suspension with a more aggressive tune. It also features a unique steering setup, black 19-inch wheels, green brake calipers and a quad-tip dual muffler. Inside, it gets paddle shifters and is fitted with sport seats upholstered in black synthetic leather with green piping.
The GT’s luxury counterpart, the EX trim level, features a panoramic moonroof, power passenger seat, ventilated front seats, a heated steering wheel and a 12-speaker Bose audio system. Additional safety equipment on the EX includes blind spot cameras, a 360-degree parking camera and reverse automatic braking.
