Overview of the Recall

Ford Motor Company has recently announced a major recall affecting more than 295,400 Super Duty trucks. This recall concerns model-year 2020-2022 Super Duty F-250, F-350, F-450, F-550, and F-600 trucks, as well as 2021-2022 F-650 and F-750 vehicles. The key issue is related to the high-pressure fuel pump, potentially compromising the drive power of these trucks.

Safety Risks Involved

The defect involves the pump drivetrain roller components, which may accumulate biodiesel deposits. This accumulation can ultimately lead to a failure of the high-pressure fuel pump, resulting in a dangerous loss of drive power. This condition presents an elevated risk of a crash, thereby warranting immediate attention from truck owners.

Next Steps for Owners

Ford is committed to addressing this recall efficiently. As part of the solution, authorized dealers will provide free updates to the powertrain control module. Ford will begin notifying affected owners on January 13. If you own one of the affected vehicles, it is advisable to reach out for more information. You can contact Ford at 866-436-7332 or refer to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s vehicle-safety hotline at 888-327-4236. To verify if your truck is part of this recall, visit the official Ford website and check your vehicle identification number.
