The Legacy of the Renault 5 Turbo

The Renault 5 Turbo has become a legendary name in the world of rally racing since it first emerged in the 1980s. Its unique design and high-performance capabilities made it a favorite among enthusiasts. Now, Renault is paying tribute to this icon with the launch of the Renault 5 Turbo 3E, a modern hot hatchback that embodies the spirit of the original.

A Nostalgic Design with Modern Flair

The Renault 5 Turbo 3E is produced in a limited edition, with only 1,980 units set to be manufactured. This vehicle features a striking yellow-and-black livery that harkens back to the vibrant colors of Renault’s racing cars from the past. Despite some modern updates, such as the omission of the concept car‘s oversized rear wing, the design remains an eye-catching homage, with enhanced bodywork that echoes the classic 5 Turbo’s bold look.

Power and Performance

Equipped with an electric motor on each rear wheel, the Renault 5 Turbo 3E boasts a staggering combined output of 536 horsepower. This immense power enables the vehicle to accelerate from zero to 62 mph in less than 3.5 seconds, enhancing the driving experience significantly. Furthermore, the innovative 70 kWh battery features an 800-volt architecture, allowing users to charge from 15 to 80 percent in a mere 15 minutes—essential for keeping up with the demands of performance-driven drivers.
