Cybertruck Launch: A New Chapter for Tesla

In a bold move to boost its electric pickup truck’s popularity, Tesla has officially launched the much-anticipated Cybertruck in Saudi Arabia and Qatar. The automaker aims to expand availability in new markets following a lukewarm reception in the United States. With the Cybertruck previously limited to North America, Tesla is now stepping into international waters.

Understanding the Market Response

Despite the initial excitement that came with over 1 million reservations, the Cybertruck’s production output hasn’t measured up to expectations. After unveiling a production model with a steep increase in price and reduced range, demand plummeted significantly. The company’s ambitious target of producing 250,000 units annually reduced to a stark realization of only 25,000 units per year—a sobering tenth of its production capability.

New Strategies for Growth

In pursuit of leveraging its unused production capacity, Tesla is now focused on introducing the Cybertruck to international markets. Recent announcements included expanding its reach to South Korea, alongside the UAE. With orders now being accepted in Saudi Arabia and Qatar, the electric truck starts at 435,000 Saudi Riyals, roughly translating to about 6,000 USD. Tesla is set to make deliveries in March 2026, providing a chance for international consumers to experience the unique vehicle.
