Vasseur’s Vision for the Future

Frederic Vasseur, the boss of Ferrari, has made it clear that the team’s focus will shift towards the development of the 2025 Formula 1 season after the initial four or five races. Following a nail-biting finish where Scuderia Ferrari narrowly missed out on the constructors’ title in 2024, this strategic decision is crucial for the team as they embrace the new season with renewed motivation.

The Evolution of the SF-25

Ferrari is not just resting on its laurels; the team has embarked on implementing a series of “small steps,” as Charles Leclerc describes it, in refining the SF-25. These adjustments are not merely cosmetic but represent a heavily revised concept intended to enhance performance. One of the significant changes includes a crucial switch from pushrod to pull-rod front suspension, which is anticipated to optimize the aerodynamic qualities of the car throughout the season.

Boosting Aerodynamic Development

Technical director Loic Serra emphasized that this shift in suspension design aims to create more space for boosting aerodynamic development. This focus on aerodynamics is essential as the team gears up to tackle the challenges of the final season under the existing rules cycle. With careful planning and execution, Ferrari aims not just to compete but to reclaim its position at the forefront of Formula 1 racing.
