Hyundai Makes Electric Vehicles More Accessible

Even though the $7,500 EV tax credit has come to an end, Hyundai is making sure the savings continue for electric vehicle enthusiasts. The company has announced a substantial price reduction for the 2026 Ioniq 5, lowering it by nearly $10,000. This new pricing strategy reaffirms Hyundai’s dedication to delivering affordable electric vehicles to the U.S. market.

What’s New for the 2026 Ioniq 5?

The base model of the 2026 Ioniq 5 RWD Standard Range is now available at just $35,000. This makes it one of the most budget-friendly EVs available today, standing shoulder-to-shoulder with the Chevy Equinox EV. Depending on the trim, customers can expect savings of up to $9,800. These price adjustments come in light of Hyundai’s ongoing efforts to prioritize affordability while expanding its electric vehicle lineup.

Continuing the Savings for 2025 Models

Moreover, Hyundai is extending the unique ,500 cash incentive for current 2025 Ioniq 5 models until at least October. This approach not only highlights Hyundai’s dedication to cost-effectiveness but also aims to keep the sales momentum alive. With nearly 22,000 units sold in the last third-quarter alone, the Hyundai Ioniq 5 is proving to be quite popular, reflecting a 90% increase in year-over-year sales.
