2024 Dodge Hornet , Starts at $32,995

The Dodge Hornet gets the brand’s first plug-in hybrid model, the R/T trim, for 2024. It also gets new pricing for the new model year, now starting at $32,995 (all prices include $1,595 destination fee).
The 2024 Hornet R/T and R/T Plus PHEVs make a total 288 horsepower and 383 pounds-feet of torque, generated through a 1.3-liter turbo four-cylinder engine mated with a 15.5-kilowatt-hour battery and six-speed automatic transmission. Drivers can use the R/T’s on-demand PowerShot mode to tack on an additional 30 hp for 15 seconds, letting the vehicle reach 0-60 mph in 5.6 seconds.

The R/T also comes with three drive modes to adjust the car to your needs: Electric, E-Save and Hybrid. The R/T and R/T Plus have an EPA-estimated 33-mile all-electric driving range and total driving range of 360 miles.

The GT and GT Plus’ powertrain come with a 268-hp, turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that makes 295 pounds-feet of torque; it’s mated to a nine-speed automatic and gets an EPA-rated 21/29/24 mpg city/highway/combined.

The Hornet’s black interior features red accent stitching, as well as standard black imitation leather seats in the GT and R/T; black leather seats are standard on the GT Plus and R/T Plus and can be upgraded to red. It also has a hands-free liftgate, 60/40-split, folding rear seats and a large underfloor storage area. The Hornet offers five extra-cost exterior colors beyond the standard black or white: Acapulco Gold, Blu Bayou, Blue Steele, Gray Cray and Hot Tamale.

On the tech side, the Hornet’s standard audiovisual display is a 10.25-inch touchscreen. This interface includes Dodge’s UConnect 5 system, which allows drivers to access smartphone apps, climate control settings and performance statistics all in one place. The system includes wireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto, Amazon Alexa and a Wi-Fi hot spot. The GT Plus and R/T Plus trims include an audio upgrade from the standard six-speaker system to a 14-speaker Harman Kardon premium audio system with a subwoofer, as well as a power moonroof.

The Hornet’s standard safety tech includes lane departure steering assist, blind spot monitoring, forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking and adaptive cruise control. The available Tech Pack includes Active Driving Assist, which combines lane-centering steering with adaptive cruise control to provide semi-autonomous driving on the highway or in stop-and-go traffic.
