Successful Charity Ride Through the Countryside
Members of the Buxton Motorbike Club recently completed a 72-mile charity ride, raising an impressive £2473 for good causes. This event, held on Sunday, May 11, attracted 40 enthusiastic riders and took them through the picturesque landscapes of Cheshire, North Staffordshire, and Derbyshire.

A Legacy of Giving
Over the last seven years, the Buxton Motorbike Club has raised more than £18,000, primarily for Cancer Research UK. This ongoing charitable endeavor pays tribute to six of their former members who succumbed to cancer. Each year, the riders follow a new route, maintaining a fresh experience while honoring the memory of their loved ones. Frank Hambleton, the club’s 82-year-old chairman, expressed that even after he steps back, the event will continue as it has become a cherished tradition for the members.
Growing Community Spirit
The annual charity ride brings together not only seasoned members but also newcomers, with 11 new riders joining this May alone. Currently, the Buxton Motorbike Club boasts over 270 followers on their Facebook page and is committed to community involvement. Aside from the charity run, they organize Tuesday evening rides in the Peak District and longer Sunday trips, including destinations in North Wales. With ongoing support, the club is sure to thrive and contribute to meaningful causes for years to come.
