Overview of the Recall
Hyundai Motor has announced a recall affecting nearly 8,000 Genesis GV60 electric vehicles from the 2023-2025 model years. The reason for this action stems from a potential issue with the molding at the top of the windshield, which may cause the molding to peel or even detach while driving.

Potential Risks and Customer Awareness
While there have been no reported accidents or injuries linked to this defect, owners may notice wind noise or whistling sounds coming from the upper part of the windshield. Hyundai’s internal testing revealed that insufficiencies in adhesive from the supplier were at fault. Between October 26, 2022, and August 8, 2025, there have been 112 reported instances of molding detachment.
Next Steps for Owners
Hyundai aims to proactively address the concern by mailing notification letters to affected owners on November 17, 2025. The company estimates that only about 1% of the 7,855 Genesis GV60 EVs being recalled may actually have this defect. If you’re a GV60 owner and have questions, you can reach out to Genesis customer service at 844-340-9741.
