Introducing the New Moto Morini X-Cape 700

Moto Morini has outdone itself with the launch of its updated parallel-twin adventure bike, the X-Cape 700. Priced significantly lower than the Yamaha Ténéré 700 by a staggering £2905, this bike promises an attractive blend of performance and affordability. Scheduled to hit dealers in June, it meets the more stringent Euro5 regulations while boasting exciting upgrades from its predecessor, the X-Cape 650.

Performance Boosts and Technical Specs

The heart of the new 700 is its 693cc parallel twin motor, which replaces the previous 649cc unit. While the bore size remains at 83mm, the stroke has been increased to 64mm, resulting in a claimed power output of 69.1bhp at 8500rpm—an increase from 59bhp. With peak torque now delivered at a lower 6500 rpm and rated at 50.2lb.ft (up from 39.9lb.ft), the X-Cape 700 closes the performance gap with rivals like the Aprilia Tuareg 660 and Suzuki V-Strom 800DE.

Features That Set It Apart

But don’t think the Morini is all about raw power. It’s also loaded with features that make it stand out in the competitive adventure bike market. It comes standard with switchable ABS, dual USB charging sockets, a seven-inch color TFT display, and hand guards. Weighing in at a claimed 213kg dry, with 190mm of ground clearance and an adjustable seat height, the bike is ready to tackle various terrains. Its suspension, featuring Brembo brakes and Marzocchi forks, ensures a smooth ride whether you’re on the highway or hitting the trails.
