Given that sodium is significantly more abundant than lithium, the environmental impact of sodium-ion batteries is notably lower. While the current energy density of these batteries falls short of lithium-ion’s 200-300 watt-hours per kilogram, with 175 watt-hours being the benchmark, they still offer impressive range estimates: up to 310 miles for pure EVs. Moreover, the ability to charge from 30% to 80% within a mere 30 minutes, even in frigid temperatures, is a game-changer.
