Overview of the Recall

Tesla is taking proactive measures to ensure the safety of its customers by recalling over 239,300 electric vehicles due to a malfunction in the rearview camera system. The affected models include the popular Model 3, Model S, Model X, and Model Y from the 2023-2025 production years. As an automaker renowned for its innovation, Tesla understands the importance of reliable safety features in preventing accidents on the road.

Issue with the Rearview Camera

The primary concern with these vehicles is related to a potential short circuit in the computer circuit board, which may result in a loss of the rearview camera image. This malfunction significantly affects visibility while reversing, thereby increasing the risk of a crash. Ensuring a clear view while backing up is crucial for the safety of drivers, passengers, and pedestrians alike.

Solutions and Next Steps

In response to this safety concern, Tesla is implementing an over-the-air update that can rectify the issue without requiring a physical service visit. Additionally, for vehicles that have already experienced a circuit board failure, Tesla will replace the faulty components free of charge. Owners of the impacted vehicles will begin receiving notifications starting March 7. If you have further questions about this recall, you can contact Tesla directly at 877-798-3752 or reach out to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration at 888-327-4236 for assistance.
