Having been redesigned for the 2017 model year, the current-generation Nissan Armada is getting on in years. But little is changing for Nissan’s full-size family hauler for 2024 beyond dropping the base S trim, making the SV the new entry-level variant. It starts at $57,345 (all prices include $1,895 destination charge) — $4,850 higher than the base price of a 2023 Armada S, but an increase of just $150 relative to the 2023 SV.
Powertrains and Fuel Economy
One prominent sign of the Armada’s age is its engine. Where other SUVs like the Toyota Sequoia and Ford Expedition now pack turbocharged V-6s under the hood, Nissan’s 5.6-liter V-8 soldiers on. Its 400 horsepower is competitive, but the Armada’s 413 pounds-feet of torque pales in comparison to the 583 pounds-feet generated by the Sequoia’s standard hybrid system. The turbocharged V-6 in the Ford Expedition makes 470 pounds-feet on most trims, and the other naturally aspirated holdouts in the form of the Chevrolet Tahoe and GMC Yukon twins, offer up to 460 pounds-feet. The 2024 Armada comes standard with a seven-speed automatic transmission and rear-wheel drive; four-wheel drive is available.
The Armada’s fuel economy expectedly trails its higher-tech competition. With RWD, it manages an EPA rating of just 14/19/16 mpg city/highway/combined, dropping to 13/18/15 mpg with 4WD. Other family buses better the Nissan by at least a few mpg, with the Toyota netting 21/24/22 mpg with RWD, according to the EPA.
Standard Nissan Safety Shield 360
Nissan’s Safety Shield 360 suite of driver-assist and safety tech is standard on all Armadas. It includes forward collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, blind spot monitors with steering assist, rear cross-traffic alert, lane departure steering assist, and front and rear parking sensors. The SL and Platinum feature a 360-degree camera system, while the Platinum also adds traffic-sign recognition.
The 2024 Nissan Armada is on sale now. All trim lines come standard with rear-wheel drive; four-wheel drive costs an additional ,000.

Versus the Competition
Chevrolet hasn’t priced its 2024 Tahoe yet, but the 2023 model started at ,095 with the base 5.3-liter V-8 or ,015 with the aforementioned 6.2-liter V-8. The 2024 Ford Expedition is priced from ,420, and the 2024 Sequoia will set you back at least ,725.
