The Ambitious Goal: Setting a New World Record

The turbo Hayabusa duo, comprising Jarrod ‘Jack’ Frost and motorcycle customiser Paul Milbourn, is gearing up to challenge the current world record for the fastest speed two-up on a motorcycle. After a successful practice run that reached an impressive 224 mph, they are determined to break the previous record set by TV personality Henry Cole and engineer Allen Millyard at Elvington Airfield.

Past Achievements and Current Preparations

Henry Cole and Allen Millyard accomplished a remarkable speed of 183.5 mph on Millyard’s innovative 8-litre Viper V10 motorcycle in May 2023. Jack Frost, with his turbocharged second-generation Suzuki Hayabusa, previously achieved solo speeds of 274.926 mph. In preparation for the official attempt, the duo has made crucial modifications to the motorcycle, including a revised seat unit to accommodate the extra weight of a passenger.

Practice Runs: Insights from Jack Frost

During their practice runs on March 24, Frost reported favorable conditions and managed to reach 261 mph alone before transitioning to two-up runs. Although carrying Paul, who weighs around 90 kg, posed a challenge, Frost noted that everything felt stable. Their initial two-up attempt yielded a top speed of 224 mph, showcasing the potential of their enhanced setup. As they pushed for higher speeds, they experienced slight instability but remained committed to refining their technique for the upcoming official run.

The excitement builds as this turbo Hayabusa duo works meticulously towards surpassing the current two-up speed record. With a series of practice runs planned, they are looking to not only set a new benchmark but also to showcase the thrilling potential of modern motorcycle engineering.
