Transforming Electric Vehicle Charging

In a bid to eliminate “charging anxiety,” BYD has unveiled a groundbreaking solution: their new super e-platform. CEO Wang Chuanfu has emphasized the goal of making electric vehicle (EV) charging as quick as refueling at a gas station. Recent demonstrations show that their latest EVs can gain nearly 250 miles (400 km) of range in just five minutes, thrilling potential electric vehicle buyers.

Revolutionary Flash Charging Battery

This impressive charging time is thanks to BYD’s innovative flash charging battery, capable of handling charging currents of 1000A. With an astounding charging rate of 10C and the ability to deliver a megawatt (1000 kW) of power, drivers can recharge their vehicles significantly faster than traditional options. For example, the Han L model can recharge from 10% to 70% in a mere six minutes!

Changing the EV Landscape

As BYD rolls out its new models like the Han L and Tang L, which are set at competitive prices starting from 219,800 yuan ($30,000), excitement is building. Drivers can look forward to adding around 370 km (230 miles) of range in just five minutes with the Tang L. As the company expands its reach beyond China, including plans for Europe and other international markets, BYD is making it clear: it aims to put gas stations in the rearview mirror. With these advancements in charging technology, the future of EVs looks brighter than ever.
