Overview of the 2025 Polestar 2 Lineup

The 2025 Polestar 2 presents an exclusive selection, focusing solely on the performance pack variant. For those wishing to acquire a standard model, the unfortunate news is that Polestar has discontinued the single-motor versions for this year. This strategic decision follows the previous year’s shift from front-wheel drive to rear-wheel drive, signaling a new era for the Polestar brand.

Significant Changes in Specifications

This year, Polestar has completely eliminated the long-range rear-wheel drive and long-range all-wheel drive trims. Enthusiasts may fondly recall the earlier iterations of the performance pack, initially presented with a dual-motor design producing 469 horsepower and 502 pound-feet of torque. Although the 2024 performance pack received updates for charging efficiency and torque enhancement, the 2025 model interestingly retains its torque at 546 pound-feet while reverting to the original 469 horsepower. This decision highlights Polestar’s commitment to both performance and driver experience.

Pricing and Additional Features

The 2025 Polestar 2 comes equipped with several essential packages—climate, performance, plus, and pilot—now standard with the model, leading to a substantial increase in base pricing. The starting price has risen over $15,000 to a new baseline of $66,200. Additionally, in keeping with the industry’s direction, Polestar has partnered with Tesla’s supercharger network, ensuring that future models include the NACS charging port, providing current drivers with options to enhance their charging experience.
