Lights, Camera, No Orders!

If you thought you could just waltz into Tesla and order a shiny new Model S or Model X in Europe, think again! Just over a month after unveiling a minor refresh in June, Tesla has decided to temporarily stop taking new orders for these flagship models. It’s like being at the coolest party and suddenly realizing the music has stopped. Awkward, right?

Teslas Cautionary Tale When Orders Stop and Questions Start

A Deja Vu Moment

This isn’t Tesla’s first rodeo; remember the 2021 saga? After the January refresh, European orders came to a screeching halt in December of that year, and we all waited with bated breath until August 2022 for orders to finally reopen. With this latest development, it’s hard not to raise an eyebrow and recall past events. Could there be another long waiting game in store?

Supply Chain Shenanigans?

As of now, the reasoning behind this abrupt hiccup remains as mysterious as the last number in a Tesla model name. Could it be supply issues? Quite possibly! With all production happening at their Fremont factory in California, it’s no secret that ramping up production has been a rollercoaster ride. Demand may be dwindling, but that doesn’t mean we want to hear crickets when it comes to new orders. Currently, if you’re near California, there’s only a two-month wait for a made-to-order Model S. It seems patience truly is a virtue—especially if you’re waiting for a luxury electric vehicle.
