Introduction to the Jaguar EV

Jaguar is set to redefine the luxury automotive landscape with the launch of its upcoming electric vehicle (EV), expected in late 2026. The brand’s transition marks its commitment to becoming an exclusive high-end EV manufacturer, starting with a four-door grand tourer, potentially named the i-type. This exciting development aims to blend performance with elegance, catering to discerning luxury car enthusiasts.

Design and Features of the i-type

Although few details about the new Jaguar EV are currently available, initial testing began on public roads in November 2024. Early photographs of the camouflaged prototype showcase a large and imposing sedan shape. Anticipation builds as the design is expected to reflect traits from the distinctive Type 00 concept car that garnered considerable attention. Such design approaches suggest a bold and modern aesthetic, aligning with Jaguar’s luxury branding.

Performance and Pricing Insights

Jaguar aims to impress with an EPA-estimated range of at least 430 miles on a single charge, ensuring long-distance capabilities for its drivers. Additionally, the new model is anticipated to offer rapid charging capabilities, achieving an extra 200 miles of range in just 15 minutes on a fast charger. With a projected price around $200,000, the Jaguar EV will directly compete with other high-end electric vehicles in the market, notably the Cadillac Celestiq.
